Missing Crit

I also have a class critique that I posted on someones blog as a comment, it was the gypsy Life blog, it was the first critique we had ever done in class.

Social App

I have a link in my Facebook Account that leads people to my blog. I dont have an app in my blog here for the class blog. Dan told me to just tell you about that.

Jared's Bit of Everything

The first thing that jumps out is the creativity with the title page, it really does want you to scroll down more. It gives the page a feel of creativity and organization. It makes you feel as though this page is ligit and has a purpose. The posts about his own personal health is interesting, not too many other pages have input or insight into the actual life of the person who is editing and posting on the blog. It gives the ability for the reader to relate with the blogger, its kind of interesting that he does this. I dont know if i'm a huge fan of it, but it might very well be a great and intended idea. Whatever it takes to get traffic. The personal artwork also adds to this aspect of the page...I think it does end up being useful. Through and through i enjoy this blog as well. It has some very good personalization to it, something that I haven't quite seen with anyone elses blog, or mine, for that matter. Good Job.

Big E Size That

This blog is certainly entertaining. I like the simplicity that goes along with the jokes and the political cartoon type posts. I dont know how much the title picture goes with the page but its a sick picture. (Once again I do snowboard). But I'm still laughing at the post about hyphenated marriages. Wow, the content in this blog is excellent... I bet that anyone who visits it wont leave without Laughing, seriously. I dont know much to say about this, i feel like i say this about every blog but I think i f we all had that experience with HTML before this class that our blogs would sky rocket. If they looked as good as the ideas that we had for them we might all be famous here. Its pretty cool. The "tattoo of the year" ?? WOW... I think i could have died. Keep doing what youre doing with this page, i know I'm enjoying it enough haha.

Surf Nightmares

This page was a nice, refreshing and different type of blog. It has interviews, facts, conversations about surfing. I believe the content out does the actual layout of the blog, it seems a bit over whelming and I'm not a huge fan of the color scheme, but i really do like the content. Surfing is something I'm not 100% familiar with but always wanted to read and learn about . i snowboard and wake board personally, So i enjoyed hearing the stories about different surfers. I think its a great idea for a place that different people can come and share experiences or just simply read for personal enjoyment. There probably is many other successful sites that have similar topics and ideas around their blog so I guess there should be some way to devise a plan to make this page stand out differently. I'd be afraid that if the site were too plain and too generic it might not be as interesting to people who view surfing pages regularly. Overall, a job well done..I know myself, not being a regular blogger until this class...I enjoyed reading it.

Artist Statement

As an artist I hope to accomplish giving an insight into my life through generic types of artwork, images, words, or even in the case of this class: electronic art. I don’t believe I am meant to be some revolutionary new artist for a new generation of people. I feel through my blog, artwork, or whatever the medium is that I can add to the evolution of art as it is changing through electronic interaction. I love the ideas of posting, sharing, and even developing artwork through multimedia. As an artist my goal is not to completely conform the so called “rules and regulations” that have preceded me, but to help with the transition into this new era of what is considered ART.

GFX Overload

The content on this blog page is fantastic. The images continue to be of very high quality and I know I could probably sit and stare at them just analyzing for quite a while. This is a really interesting page when, not only to the graphics interest you but they make you want to read the rest of the post. Some graphic sites you get all you want out of just looking at the image and deciding for yourself. I find myself wanting to read the descriptions, comments, etc. I especially liked the post about the show Lost and the ARG Advertising. I had seen similar things and was interested as well. To try and search for an improve is difficult, I feel that this blog (as well as mine) is victim to the simple black background basic blogger template. I know I wish we all knew html better because I believe this site could take off with a few minor aesthetic improvements. Overall I find the content to be very appealing to me.

Tarheel Archie

This blog continues to be one that I sneak a peek at often. The subject matter in this site is pretty interesting. There is a mix of personal artwork and unique artwork from multiple sources. The most recent post about sidewalk art is unlike anything I have ever seen before. When i was first introduced to this artist i was astonished. It was neat to see a class mate come across this material as well. Just as mentioned with the other pages i have visited (including my own). I think we all could customize our pagese a little bit more and take a step up from simple images and add different fonts and multiple applications to the sidebars and really start to get a handle on our blogs. I think that a few small changes in each direction would really make each page unique in their own way. Many pages continue to have black bacground and simple text. Most blogs that i visit are unique because of the creativity and ability to stand out from the others. The content is certainly there to have a successful blog, now i think the next step is to continue to mess with blog images and coloration to take a step away from the norm.

Sound Peel -X2

This page, the sound peel is interesting because it is some what related to my type of page that I have started. Beside looking at simply artists it expresses information and opinion on festivals and other such events in the music world. I immediately recognize one major change, adding the Sections bar to the top of the page. This is a very clever idea and i think works extremely well with the lay out of the page. I believe the title picture needs some work done to either fit in the box with stroke or to just take the Box out of the title completely. More links to other sites would probably be beneficial as well, to help create more traffic. I know that i have my site linked to this site due to the similarity in the subjects. I think i would love to see something go in the back ground of this page to keep from losing focus by just continuing to read white text on a black background. This page has made some successful and subtle improvements as well.

The Laughing Donkey Part 2

This page has improved since the last time I have visited it. There are even more posts about the interesting images etc that were offered by the blogger the last time. The photo bucket addition is especially interesting, the personal images added certainly correspond well with the over theme and presentation of the blog page. I think there still can be some additions made to the page to brighten it up. Not brighten in the sense of adding colors but maybe adding a new bar and more links on the side bar. I think this page is extremely interesting every time I visit, it is very unique. Again, this is probably due to the fact that I love the opening image on the title bar. If there is anything to that image I would add, is the addition of some darker color to the title "the laughing donkey", so the title pops out a bit more. I find myself staring at the image first and then trying to find the title second. Overall, this page is very well laid out and I'm sure as the quarter continues more interesting aspects will be added.

A Day in the Life of Me

On a normal day I wake up at 5:00 a.m. roughly, and I head to PT. I'm in the Army Rotc so I have obligation with that. Some morning is get up at 6:00 and do training or whatever is on the schedule. I enjoy it because it keeps me active, motivated, and happy. My days feel better knowing that I'm working out early and often too.

Usually, especially during these months...Every morning is a long cold walk to and from PT and to and from class @ THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY. This is what it looks like 75% of the time; or its just ridiculously freezing cold. I'm not used to this weather yet, it isn't this cold in NC. From there I go to class, I'm an art major so i usually am drawing, sculpting, or doing something of the sort. Usually my professors force me to create things I usually wouldn't create...As shown below. Its a steam boat from a cubist painting. (If you care).

After the busy week of school work and ROTC ...comes my weekends. Where I usually do as little as possible. I will certainly study when I need to during the week, and I guess the weekend. I do watch alot of sports on the weekends...most likely football. If there isn't anything good on I'll try and go out with some of my good friends. And yes, there is always Xbox to keep me company if I get THAT bored.

Aside from the typical weeks and typical days I love taking up any opportunity that I can to do something new. For example, I've been over seas several times to Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Monaco, France, Croatia, and Bosnia. Most recently Bosnia and Croatia in June. I love traveling. I try and go at least somewhere, not necessarily out of the country, but somewhere every year.

I transfered to Ohio State from NC and still talk to and see my friends when I can.

I have a ton of hobbies. I played College Soccer at my last school Wingate University. Basketball, and other sports. I love snowboarding, and wakeboarding.... They've turned into two of my favorite things to do on weekends or breaks, when I am able.

A day in my life IS NOT that interesting, but maybe it is to someone, so I guess we'll see. but i like staying busy..definitely.

the laughing donkey

This Layout for the blog is pretty sweet. I like The personalized picture, it really jumps out and makes you want to scroll down immediately. Your work is really interesting, so interesting that i wish there was more to look at!!! I think that this blog has a lot of potential if there is any way to get it connected to other sites so people can see your work. maybe try to just add some more links on the side? I dont really know all that much about blogs and what not, or how to get them really connected so you get hits. Im a fan, i think personal sites, especially on artwork, is awesome. The personalization is a big Positive.

What Im Doin

I'm just going to explore some relatively unkown music. I never get the time to listen to anything new, especially before it hits the radio and gets replayed so many times that all i can think about are lines like Fergalicious all day long....

So maybe I'll stumble across jams, and maybe I wont~

Class Critique of Blogs

This is a simple blog page referring to the ideas of living in a "gypsy" type way. I think the idea for this blog is extremely unique. I can't say that I really know anything about this life style or pretty much any facts about it at all. Information and stories coming from someone that has had interest and participated in such a way of life would be very intriguing. I think that solely having the artist's/writer's opinion about the information they provide is important. If information from other communes was posted I believe that she should comment on her opinions of that way of life with any kind of comparison with her own experiences. That is what would make this topic most successful and unique, her simple expression of opinion and experiences. As this idea of a "gypsy life style" may not grasp the attention of many people, I think the story telling part could attract readers for sure. Maybe some Links could be added that refer to more specifics and facts about information referenced to in future posts. I think this idea has potential because the author has first hand experience and readers will find that very credible. You just need to find what strong element will continue to reel people in, in order to gain maximum interest in your posts.
